Interstate 99 Single Vehicle Accident

Around 1440 hours Centre County Emergency Communications (911) alerted Ambulance 8 and Rescue 8 for a motor vehicle accident around the 79.5 Mile Marker on northbound I99. Firefighter Packer arrived on scene prior to additional emergency personnel. With the assistance of an out of county volunteer firefighter, ff Packer preformed a patient assessment, and maintained c-spine. The patient was just entangled with the brake pedal of the vehicle, so the two firefighters assisted the patient with self extraction. They continued patient care until Medic 24 arrived on scene, and assumed patent care.

Initially dispatched as having entrapment, Engine Rescue 114 was added to the box, which was released after determining that the patient was not entrapped. PGFD personnel assisted with patient packaging and scene control until the patient was transported to MNMC and the towing company had retrieved the vehicle.

Units remained on scene for approximately 15 minutes

Units on the box:
Ambulance 8
Medic 24
Chief 800
Rescue 818
