08/01/2010: Mutual Aid Box 599 Motor Vehicle Collision with entrapment

At approx. 8AM Sunday morning Co. 8 was dispatched for mutual aid to Co. 5 for 8-18. Co. 5 was on scene with a tractor trailer that had gone off the I-99 bridge over Park Ave. Co. 5 was also assisted by Co. 3. The driver of the truck was entrapped as the trailer had removed the cab from the frame of the truck. The location of the accident made it very difficult to remove the driver due to the angle of the embankment under the bridge and the loose rocks the cab was sitting on. Once 8-18 arrived on scene Co. 8 members relieved the crews from Co. 5 and 3 and finished the extrication by using a dash roll.
