Engine 8

Engine 8 (was engine 810) is a 1991 Seagrave. It is the first due piece of apparatus to a structure fire in CO. 8’s first due area. Engine 8 can seat 8 personnel, holds 750 gallons of water in it’s booster tank, and has a 1500 GPM Hale pump. In addition to the normal array of fire fighting supplies, Engine 8 carries 1100 feet of LDH (Large Diameter Hose — 5 Inch supply line), 800 feet of 1 3/4 inch hose, and 500 feet of 3 Inch supply line.


Engine / Rescue 8

Engine / Rescue 8 (was Engine/Rescue 814) is a 2012 Pierce Arrow XT PUC Pumper. Engine/Rescue 8 features an 8-person cab, 500 HP DD13 engine/Allison 4000 EVS 6-Speed Automatic transmission, 1500 gpm pump, 680 gallon water tank and a 20 gallon Class A Foam tank, Pierce Husky 3 Foam System. Extended front “Chicago style” bumper with a 12,000 lb. winch, front suction, 1.75? front bumper pre-connect, a Federal Q mechanical siren and PowerCall electronic siren along with two Groover Stuttertone air horns also mounted on that beautiful front bumper. All LED Whelen “M” Series warning lights and the LED Roto-Ray that will blind you if you look at it! It has a 25kW hydraulic generator powering a 6kW light tower and 2-750 watt tripods scene lights on the rear bulkhead, carries an Amkus electric Simo hydraulic pump pureconnected to 2 hydraulic hose reels with an Amkus spreader and cutter, Atlas/Copac electrically powered air tool compressor connected an air reel. It also includes the new Whelen Pioneer LED Scene Lights on the front brow and each side of the body. Each compartment was custom designed by the fire fighters and features all sorts of drawers, toolboards, trays, and bins.

Engine/Rescue 8 is first due on any non-entrapment motor vehicle collision, and second due on Motor Vehicle Collisions with entrapment and structure fires.
Engine/Rescue 8 is our primary apparatus for transfer assignments and mutual aid calls. 814 seats 8 personnel.


Rescue 8

Rescue 8 (was Rescue 818) is a 1997 Mack MR chassis with a Marion body heavy rescue. 818 is first due to all vehicle accidents with confirmed entrapment. 818 carries a large array of equipment including: An Amkus Ultimate Rescue system with four 100 foot hydraulic reels preconnected to 2 spreaders, 1 heavy duty cutter, and a panel cutter. A portable 2 tool dual simo unit is carried, in the case that the vehicle mounted extrication system would break down, or the accident is in an area that is unaccessable to Rescue 8. Rescue 8 also carries a 30Kw PTO generator, 20Kw diesel generator, and 9500 watts of vehicle mounted and portable scene lighting. a 12,000 pound ramsey winch is mounted to the front bumper of Rescue 8. Finally, a six cylinder 6000 PSI cascade system with low pressure air reel for re-filling cylinders and air tools respectively. 818 seats 8 personnel


Tanker 8

Tanker 8 is a 1991 KME tanker on a International Chassis.  Tanker 8 is used for water supply in our district and for mutual aid, where city water service and hydrants are not available for fire suppression activities, or where flow from the hydrants is not suitable for fire suppression. 819 carries an assortment of wildland fire suppression tools in addition to various hose. 1,500 Gallons of water is carried by 819 with a 500 gallon per minute pump.


Utility 8

Utility 8 is a 2000 Ford F250 crew cab pickup truck. Utility 8’s primary use is supporting fire police operations and carrying additional personnel to the scene. Utility 8 carries various traffic warning devices, and safety devices.


Brush 8

Brush 8, is a 1986 Chevrolet C/K 5/4 Ton Pickup truck. Brush 8 is a former military vehicle, purchased through the department of forestry. This unit is primarily used on brush and forestry firefighting, community service (flood pumping), and as transportation on larger fires.
Brush 8 carries 160 Gallons of water in it’s tank that is pre-plumbed to a portable pump. The compartments store 1,000 feet of pencil line (forestry hose), assorted appliances, fittings, and various other brush / forestry fire fighting equipment.

Pleasant Gap has 3 modern ambulances. These ambulances are used for the pre-hospital care and transport of sick and injured patients. Each ambulance normally is staffed with a crew of two, with at least one of the crew members being a state certified EMT. When available, we provide Intermediate EMS services with AEMTs or Paramedics who function at the AEMT level.
