At approximately 7:37 AM, fire and EMS crews were dispatched to I-99 southbound at the 81MM on-ramp for a two-vehicle accident. While crews were responding, Chief 800 arrived on scene, verified that there were no injuries to those involved in the accident, and placed the fire and EMS crews available.

Cliff rescue
At approximately 5:15 PM on Friday, March 18th, members from the Pleasant Gap Fire Company rescued a 12-year old boy from the area of the J4 cave in Pleasant Gap. It is unclear of the boy’s reason for climbing the face of the rock wall, but when he became stuck on a small ledge, his friends called for emergency assistance. After approximately 90 minutes of preparation, and with the assistance of members from the Alpha Fire Company in State College, the boy was lowered down to solid ground. (Crews on scene included Pleasant Gap Fire/Rescue/EMS and Alpha Fire Companies.)

Mutual Aid – Structure Fire (Howard)
Pleasant Gap Fire Company was called in for mutual aid assistance to Company 14 (Howard) for a working garage fire with extension into the residence. Rescue 818 responded and provided manpower for overhaul as well as fire ground support filling SCBA cylinders.

Station transfer to Alpha Fire Company
Pleasant Gap Fire Company completed a transfer assignment to Alpha Fire Company in State College to assist while the Alphas were working on a second-alarm building fire. Pleasant Gap completed the assignment and returned to quarters after about an hour.

Mutual Aid with Alpha Fire Co at the Nittany Mall
Pleasant Gap Fire Company was called to assist the Alpha Fire Company at the Nittany Mall for a fire in the maintenance garage. Pleasant Gap firefighters assisted with roof ventilation, and operated on scene for approximately one and a half hours.
