January 9th 2015 at 8:57 AM, Pleasant Gap Fire Company was alerted to a motor vehicle crash with entrapment on Interstate 99 South at the 81.8 mile marker.
PGFD FF Nick Giacobe arrived on scene minutes later to find one pick up truck rolled over in the median with one patient entrapped and one patient ejected and PA State Police already on scene. A FF/Paramedic from Bellefonte was also on scene attending to the entrapped patient.
Chief 800 arrived and assumed the command. Engine/Rescue 114 and Heavy Rescue 818 arrived and crews focused on the extrication of the entrapped patient. Extrication included a full-door removal.
Both patients were transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center via ground ambulance.
Units on the box included Rescue 818, Engine/Rescue 114, Ambulance 8, Ambulance 26, Ambulance 25, Medic 24 and PSP.
